If you lend someone
something, you give it to them for a period of time; if you borrow
something from someone, you get it from them. Could you
lend me your pen? means the same as Could I borrow your pen?

Teachers may
ask students to do these things in the classroom.
I’d like you
to work with a partner [someone
else, i. e. another student].
Henrique,
could you swap places with
Lorena? [change seats / sit in each other’s seats]
Kim, could
you share your book with Petra?
[use it together at the same time]
Repeat this
sentence after me. [say it again]
