The village of Stockley lies in a narrow valley. In the distance are the high peaks of the Black Mountains. There is a wood near the village and running through it is a river. Above the village is a waterfall which runs into a small lake. Not far from Stockley is Potter’s Farm. A narrow lane leads from the farmhouse to the main road. Cows are grazing in the large field near the farm and there are lots of sheep on the hills behind. Some hikers are following the footpath to the village. They have just crossed over the tiny stream that runs through Potter’s Farm, while some farm workers are busy cutting the hedges in the meadow near the lake.
